Closing of the second day of the Madrid Spain Masters

It was a day full of top quality badminton. All the fans who wanted to come to the Gallur Sports Centre were able to witness the first duels of the big names such as Pursala V. Shindu (India), Anders Antonsen (Denmark), Kenta Nishimoto (Japan) and, of course, the Olympic champion Carolina Marín.
Many matches were played to the limit, such as Kike Peñalver’s match, who was finally knocked out of the draw for a really close difference against Magnus Johannensen (Denmark), or Srikanth Kidambi (India) who beat the Thai Sitthikom Thammasin in a heart-stopping match by 21-11 25-27 and 23-21.

The icing on the cake today was put by Carolina Marin, closing the day on court one against Line Hojmar Kjaersfeldt. It was an especially tough battle for the Spaniard, who had just recovered from a fever that forced her to withdraw from the All England and Swiss Open. However, it has actually turned out to be a recital by the Spaniard, who has not even let the Danish player take a breath. A show to make the followers of the fastest racket sport in the world enjoy.
This tournament promises great battles on its courts. Are you going to miss them? The stars are no longer on the flag of the Community of Madrid, they are shining in Gallur. Join us at the sports hall or follow our social networks.
The tournament tomorrow starts at 10:00 a.m. The first Spaniard to take part in it will be Clara Azurmendi in the seventh round and then the Huelva hurricane will be back on the scene.
